Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: May 8, 2025

Welcome to PeacePad AI, a secure, AI-enhanced communication platform designed to help co-parents communicate more effectively and manage parenting responsibilities with greater emotional awareness.

PeacePad is currently in Beta testing. Features, functionality, and these terms may change substantially as we continue development based on user feedback. By using PeacePad, you acknowledge and accept its current beta status with potential limitations in functionality, reliability, or availability

By accessing our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using PeacePad AI, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Overview of Services

PeacePad AI aims to provide:

  • Private messaging with real-time emotional tone analysis
  • Coordination tools for custody schedules and co-parenting responsibilities
  • End-to-end encrypted data storage
  • Court-ready documentation of communication history
  • Selective sharing with professionals (therapists, mediators, legal representatives)
  • AI-powered tools to help identify and improve communication patterns

As PeacePad is in Beta, certain features may be limited, under development, or subject to change. Feature availability may vary and is not guaranteed during this stage.

3. Beta Testing Status

PeacePad is in Beta testing phase, which means:

  • The platform is being actively developed and refined
  • Features and functionality may change without prior notice
  • Service stability and availability are not guaranteed
  • Data loss or service interruptions may occur
  • Some advertised features may be partially implemented or simulated during testing

By using PeacePad during this Beta phase:

  • You agree to provide feedback if requested
  • You understand the experimental nature of the service
  • You accept that the service is provided 'as is' without warranties
  • You acknowledge that full functionality may not be available until official release

4. Co-Parenting Specific terms

  • Communication Records: Messages, schedule changes, and other communications stored on PeacePad may be used by you for reference in legal or mediation proceedings. While we design our exports to be clear and organized, we do not guarantee that all courts or mediators will accept PeacePad records.
  • Custody Schedule Data: PeacePad provides tools to help coordinate parenting time and responsibilities. You agree that the platform is a coordination tool only and does not override or modify any legal custody agreements. In case of discrepancies, your legal custody agreement takes precedence.
  • No Legal Advice: PeacePad does not provide legal advice regarding custody arrangements, parenting plans, or communication strategies during separation or divorce. Always consult with a qualified legal professional for advice.
  • High-Conflict Situations: While PeacePad aims to reduce conflict in co-parenting communication, it is not designed to replace professional intervention in high-conflict situations. If you are experiencing harassment, threats, or concerning behavior from a co-parent, please seek appropriate professional and/or legal assistance.
  • Third-Party Professional Access: When you choose to share information with a therapist, mediator, or legal professional, you are granting them read-only access to the specific content you select. These professionals are responsible for maintaining their own confidentiality and ethical obligations regarding your shared information.
  • Critical Communications Warning: PeacePad should not be your sole channel for time-sensitive or legally critical communications. For urgent matters related to child safety, court deadlines, or emergency situations, use communication methods specified in your parenting plan or legal agreements.

5. Privacy & Security

Your privacy and data protection are central to our platform, especially given the sensitive nature of co-parenting communication.

  • Encryption: We implement encryption to protect messages, logs, and calendar data.
  • Access Control: Role-based permissions ensure that only you and those you explicitly authorize can access your information.
  • Selective Sharing: You maintain complete control over what information is shared with your co-parent, therapist, mediator, or legal representative.
  • Compliance: Our systems are being designed with HIPAA and GDPR requirements in mind to protect your sensitive personal information.
  • Court Documentation: Information exported for legal or mediation purposes is formatted to maintain privacy while providing necessary context.
  • Data Retention: We retain your data according to our retention policies and applicable laws. You can request deletion of your data at any time, subject to legal hold requirements.
  • Children's Privacy: We do not collect personal information directly from children under 13. Information about children shared by parents is protected with the same security measures as all platform data.

See our Privacy Policy for more detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your data.

6. Intellectual Property

  • PeacePad AI, including its design, features, functionality, and the selection and arrangement of content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.
  • You retain ownership of the content you create or upload to the platform. By using our services, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving our services.
  • Our AI tone analysis and suggestion features may process your content to provide feedback. This processing does not transfer ownership of your content to us.
  • The PeacePad name and logo are currently being used as identifiers for this service. While we are in the early development stages, we ask that you do not use these identifiers in a way that might suggest an affiliation, endorsement, or relationship that does not exist.

7. User Accounts

You may be required to register to access certain features. By doing so:

  • You confirm you are 18+ or have appropriate legal consent.
  • You are responsible for securing your login credentials.
  • You must not impersonate others or share your account access
  • Each co-parent must create their own separate account
  • You must not share your account credentials with your co-parent
  • Account information should be kept confidential between co-parents

8. AI-Powered Features

PeacePad AI uses advanced language models to analyze emotional tone in co-parenting communications and suggest potential improvements.

  • These AI features are designed to improve communication, not provide medical, legal, or therapeutic advice.
  • We do not guarantee 100% accuracy in tone labeling or suggestions, especially during beta testing.
  • Always consult a licensed professional before acting on communication insights or for co-parenting guidance.

9. Data Handling During Beta

  • During this Beta phase, we cannot guarantee the persistence, integrity, or security of data stored on PeacePad.
  • You should not rely solely on PeacePad for storing critical co-parenting communications or agreements without maintaining separate records.
  • We may need to reset, modify, or migrate data during development.
  • While we strive to implement strong security measures, our security infrastructure is still under development during Beta testing.
  • By using PeacePad Beta, you acknowledge these limitations regarding data handling.
  • 10. Selective Sharing

You may choose to share specific co-parenting communications with your therapist, mediator, or legal representative:

    • Sharing is specific to the content you select, read-only, and always under your control.
    • Professionals cannot modify or download communications unless future features allow commenting (with your consent).
    • Shared content may be used in therapeutic or legal contexts as permitted by applicable laws and professional standards.

    11. Prohibited Activities

    You agree not to:

    • Harass or harm other users or professionals
    • Upload or store illegal, harmful, or offensive content
    • Use PeacePad to harass, intimidate, or manipulate your co-parent
    • Share information that could endanger a child's wellbeing
    • Deliberately create misleading communication records for legal advantage
    • Use the platform to circumvent court orders or parenting agreements
    • Share access to your account with your co-parent or others
    • Reverse engineer or tamper with the platform
    • Impersonate a therapist, mediator, legal representative, or another user

Violations may result in termination or suspension.

    12. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  • PeacePad is offered 'as is' and 'as available' during this Beta phase, without any warranties, expressed or implied.
  • We expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • We are not liable for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to direct, indirect, special, consequential, or incidental damages related to:
    • Availability or functionality of the service
    • Accuracy of AI analysis or suggestions
    • Data loss or security breaches
    • Reliance on the platform for critical co-parenting communications
    • Use of platform content in legal, therapeutic, or mediation contexts
  • You use PeacePad at your own risk and discretion during this Beta testing phase.
  • You agree to hold harmless and indemnify PeacePad and its operators from any claims arising from your use of the service.
  • 13. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of PeacePad shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation.

Legal notices related to these Terms should be sent to peacepad.team@proton.me.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. The jurisdiction and venue for any legal proceedings will be determined at the time a dispute arises, taking into account the location of the parties and relevant legal considerations.

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through informal negotiation, both parties agree to seek mediation before pursuing any formal legal action.

    14. Modification & Termination

  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue PeacePad or any part of it at any time during this Beta phase, with or without notice.
  • We may terminate your access to some or all of the services for any reason at our discretion during Beta testing.
  • We may transition from Beta to full release, which may require acceptance of updated terms or migration to a new platform version.
  • If we decide not to proceed with full development or release of PeacePad following Beta testing, we will provide reasonable notice before terminating the service.
  • 15. Payments & Subscriptions

Currently, all features are available without charge. In future updates, we may introduce:

    • Free and Pro plans
    • Professional features for therapists, mediators, and legal representatives
    • Clear pricing and billing terms (communicated before activation)

    16. Platform Availability

PeacePad AI is accessible via web browser and is optimized for both desktop and mobile. Mobile apps for iOS and Android are planned. We may modify or suspend services at any time.

    17. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of PeacePad AI constitutes your acceptance of any updated terms.
